The Development Academies are the first stepping stone into the Northern Ireland Performance Pathway. We have 2 groups – Development Academy (generally 11-13 year olds) and Future Internationals (13-15 year olds). The purpose of these squads are to focus on the individual skill development of our netballers to better prepare them to transition to the national squads at U17 level and beyond.

What happens at a trial?

Coaches will take you through some warmup exercises then there will be some drills and match play – all you need to do is bring your trial fee and some water with you, and wear trainers, tshirt and shorts/leggings/skort – whatever is most comfortable.

What happens if you are successful?

Netballers selected onto the U13 and U15 Regional Academy Squads will attend a series of training sessions between March and September. They will work with their coaching teams on their on court technical and tactical skills, as well as learn about off court skills that make an effective high performing athlete.

Cost of the Netball NI Regional Academy Squads: £100
