What has been the most rewarding or exciting moment for you in your netball journey so far? Winning against Belfast Ladies in the Shield final this season, such a good game to play in and even better to win.

Michelle Magee is a versatile defender, who was named Northern Ireland’s International Player of the Year in 2023.

Capable of playing across all three defensive positions, Shelly has plenty of international experience on her CV. She represented the Warriors at 2018 Commonwealth Games as an 18-year-old and played at the Netball World Cup in Liverpool. She’s previously captained the Northern Ireland U17s and was Vice Captain for the U21s and competed in the 2017 World Youth Cup in Botswana, before establishing herself in the Warriors. In 2022, she represented Northern Ireland in the Commonwealth Games and the World Cup qualifiers.

In 2023, Michelle was awards player of the series at the Test Series vs Republic of Ireland, and also appeared at the Europe Netball Open final, during NSL season, to assist her team in securing the gold medal.

Michelle has played four season with Leeds Rhinos Netball, becoming Vice-Captain in 2024 and also becoming their most capped player at 57 caps. Prior to this, Michelle was part of the Loughborough Lightning pathway since 2018.

In 2022, Michelle graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in biomedical engineering.

What has been the most rewarding or exciting moment for you in your netball journey so far? Becoming an u21 Netball Europe silver medallist in 2021

Emma Magee is a vibrant & exciting attacker, dominating the GA bib for Northern Ireland.

She captained Northern Ireland U21s in the 2017 Netball Youth World Cup before representing the senior Northern Ireland in the 2019 World Cup and in 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Magee, who is the older sister of current Rhinos player Michelle, can play goal attack, goal shooter and wing attack, made 18 appearances for Storm and scored 103 goals over two seasons before taking a year away from playing in 2023.

Alongside her netball, Magee is a PE teacher and also plays Gaelic Football with Antrim Ladies.
