Head of Performance
Netball Northern Ireland
Full-time | Flexible working | Location: NI (or remote with NI travel)
Netball Northern Ireland is seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Performance to
lead our high-performance- and pathway programmes. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role
will drive the strategic direction of performance netball in Northern Ireland and manage all
performance squads, coaches, and multidisciplinary support teams.
We are looking for a leader with proven experience in performance sport, strong understanding
of athlete development, and the ability to maximise a modest budget to deliver impact. The
post-holder will also act as a key liaison with funders and stakeholders, including Sport NI,
Commonwealth Games NI, Europe Netball, World Netball, UKAD, athletes, and sponsors.
Applicants based outside Northern Ireland are welcome but must be available to attend essential
NI-based activity/events as required.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading the performance strategy and athlete pathway
• Managing coaches, MDT staff, and all performance squads
• Athlete progression, load management, and the competition/training calendar
• Relationship management with funders and performance partners
• Budget planning and oversight
• Operational and administrative leadership for performance programmes
You will bring:
• Experience in performance sport
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Knowledge of high-performance- systems, athlete development, and MDT environments
• Innovative leader with strong horizon scanning capability, able to anticipate future
performance requirements and emerging risks
• Proven budget and stakeholder management experience
