Commonwealth Games 2026 – Warriors Round-Up

The Commonwealth Games was an important step for the Northern Ireland Warriors. We arrived determined to strive, compete and continue building our identity, and throughout the campaign the group showed growth, resilience and an increasing belief in what we are capable of achieving together.

With three athletes making their Commonwealth Games debuts, it was exciting to see the group embrace the challenge and grow in confidence throughout the competition. We faced one of the toughest pools in the tournament, taking on three teams ranked inside the world’s top five, alongside opponents currently ranked above us.

Across the campaign, there were clear signs of progress. We increased our goal output from the 2022 Commonwealth Games, recorded some of our highest team stats to date and scored a Commonwealth Games-high 78 goals in our classification match where we finished 11th. We also closed the gap on opponents we had faced previously, scoring more goals and reducing scoreline margins.
