Netball Northern Ireland is delighted to announce the players selected for the 2026/27 Northern Ireland U17 U19 and U21 National Academies.
These talented athletes represent the next generation of elite netballers, taking vital steps on the performance pathway towards future international honours. With 3 European Competitions this international season we look forward to seeing our squads represent on the international stage.
Following a highly competitive trial process, the squads have been finalised with the addition of U17 and U19 development squads, showing our commitment to developing the depth of athlete in our system all the way through the NI Performance Pathway.
The National Academy structure is ever evolving designed to identify, adapt, and develop emerging talent, providing players with the technical, tactical, physical and mental skills needed to excel at the highest levels of the game. Over the next 6 months we will continue to develop a performance strategy to 2030 and beyond ensuring a conveyor belt of ‘Warrior Ready’ athletes coming through the system, as well as supporting the networks are in and come from. Look out for information coming out in the next few months.
Warriors Head Coach, Sheonah Forbes, said:
We are incredibly proud of all young athletes who took part in this years selection process. The commitment, determination, and learning by all was exceptional, making final selections extremely difficult.
The U17 U19 and U21 National Academies are crucial in preparing players for future international competitions, showing our commitment by adding in development groups to build towards future Warrior growth.
Throughout the season, academy athletes will participate in training camps, specialist coaching sessions, alongside competitive match opportunities that will challenge and extend their development.
