Please see updated statement below from Netball NI regarding the Coronavirus - COVID-19:
Re: Extended suspension of all programmes, events and competitions.
The Board of Netball NI following consultation with Senior Staff and Key Stakeholders have updated the position of NNI to extend the suspension all netball activity until 30th April 2020.
The health and safety of members, staff, volunteers and officials is priority for Netball NI and this decision should be respected and must be followed by all clubs, officials, schools and social groups.
Netball NI will continue to monitor and review the situation on an ongoing basis and will communicate additional updates as they arise.
Netball NI staff are following UK Government advice and working from home when possible and can be contacted via work emails/mobiles during usual working hours.
For information – work is already underway as to requirements needed for NNI to successfully complete our 19/20 season domestic competitions and how this could fit into the calendar once we are through this unprecedented situation.
Our Netball family is resilient and have proven in the past that we can join together and support each other in times of need. Now, more than ever, is the time for us to work together to ensure that all our members and the wider community feel our support and do not become isolated. Let’s view this as a time of mass cooperation intended to protect the collective whole and the most vulnerable among us.
Netball NI social media will be a source of information and all things netball over the coming weeks, aiming to keep us connected and motivated with tips and ideas allowing us all to be ready to get back on court as soon as it is safe to do so. We’ve already seen many of our clubs do this, keep tagging us.
Our motto has never been so relevant #StrongestTogether
